Web pages aren't just for geeks any more. If you're in business, the chances are good you'll be involved in building a Web site in one way or another. But what if you don't know HTML from H20? Or a browser from Bowser? I'll take you through the entire process of building a simple Web site, from the ground up, with plenty of pointers to other tutorials, reference material, and product reviews along the way. These lessons are meant to be read in order, but feel free to jump around as you please.

Step 1: Planning the purpose and ultimate requirements of the site.

Step 2: Research

Step 3: Build the site off line.

Step 4: Find a suitable name for the site.

Step 5: Register the Name. (Possibly Combined With Step 5)

Step 6: Find a Host for the new domain name.

Step 7: Upload the completed site to the server.

Step 8: Test the sites functionality.

Step 9: Exchange links with other sites.

Step 10: Submit the site and promote it to the World Wide Web.

Step 11: Wait

Now that you have your own web space in the internet world it will not immediately produce results. The best to do now is wait for two to three months and let the search engines get you indexed. You can use this time to continue and set up more and more links with related information to your site. By the time you have a good linking system established you will find that the search engines will start to send you customers interested in your service or product.

GOOD JOB!!
