Another problem I see today is that so many people
or very religious but still forget to worship. Were we not created
to love and worship Allah? Does not love and worship come from the
heart? I became a Muslim because it is the true religion. I believe
in one God and I believe Muhammad was a messenger of God. I trust
that the Quran is accurate from the time of Muhammad because the
religion teaches that it is a duty of a true Muslim to learn and
recite the Quran. It is still always provided with the original
Arabic writings. These are not translations from some other language,
which sometimes causes confusion. My only problem and maybe I am
wrong and I ask forgiveness if so. I feel that so many Muslims read
faithfully and recite the Quran as commanded in the scriptures.
But as a young Muslim I am just learning a lot of the ways to worship
Allah in Islam. But I feel from my heart, and maybe it my Christian
teaching or just me that I need to learn the scriptures meanings.
I know it is important to memorize the scriptures. This is the one
reason I trust the Quran because it has been memorized and passed
from one generation to another. But I have asked as I learn the
scriptures from some very old Muslims in the faith and some cannot
tell me the meaning of the words in their language or in English.
My point I am trying to make is that it appears that the teaching,
which was intended for Arabic speaking people to recite and memorize
the Quran, was wonderful. But what happens when you export that
teaching but you do not require the people to actually know what
they are saying. The words are the same but does it truly have the
same affect if you do not feel from your heart and know every word
you speak to Allah with. Being able to recite words does not mean
you have any knowledge of Gods messages, just pride.
Volume 9, Book 88, Number 187: Narrated 'Abdullah: The Prophet said,
"Near the establishment of the Hour, there will be the days
of Al-Harj, and the religious knowledge will be taken away (vanish
i.e. by the death of Religious scholars) and general ignorance will
spread." Abu Musa said, "Al-Harj, in the Ethiopian language,
means killing," Ibn Mas'ud added: I heard Allah's Apostle saying;
(It will be) from among the most wicked people who will be living
at the time when the Hour will be established."
