The holy Quran was not the original message from God as many Muslims think because they never ponder the meanings of the scriptures therein. It has been guarded much closer than the original scriptures, the Engel and the Torah. By the commandments of Allah it was memorized in every detail by the faithful followers. It was then used as a guide for prayer and worship by the followers. Later after it had been memorized it was written down. All followers had the duty since the time of Muhammad to guard it exactly like it was given to Muhammad. I believe it to be the most accurate record of Gods message to man but not the original. The message that Muhammad received was a reminder, the Quran did not come to correct, replace, annul, modify, or do away with other Holy Books; it came to CONFIRM!
As a young boy I read the Bible numerous times from front to back and prayed for God to save me from the fires of Hell. I prayed that He would show me the light and straight path to salvation so I might have a home in paradise. I do not believe as a child I was led astray by the whisperings of Satan. I was so happy more than 30 years later when I read the Holy Quran and it did confirm to me my beliefs that I had learned from The Holy Bible and hold so strongly in my heart.
If the Bible was so corrupt and needs to be discarded or replaced, as Muslims in general believe, then why was the Quran sent only to COMFIRM. I believe that Allah would have said this book, The Holy Quran has came to replace the others if they were so bad that they should not be read any more by Muslims. But this is not what Allah said. He said,
"And believe in what I sent down (this Quran), confirming that which is with you...
Surat-ul Baqara (2): 41"

"And when there came to them (the Jews) a Book (this Qur'an) from Allah, confirming what is with them...
Surat-ul Baqara (2): 89 "

"...And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them...
Surat-ul Baqara (2): 91"

"And when there came to them a messenger from Allah (Muhammad) confirming what was with them...
Surat-ul Baqara (2): 101"

"And before this was the scripture of Musa (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur'an) in the Arabic language...
Surat-ul Ahqaf (46): 12"

"And this is (the Qur'an) is a blessed Book which We have seat down, confirming (the revelations) which came before it...
Surat-ul An'am (6): 92"

"And we have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (this Quran) in truth confirming the scripture that came before it and Muhaymin (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (old scriptures) ...
Surat-ul Maida (5): 48"

This was a message to Muhammad and all mankind. It shows that the books that most Muslims have put away to the side are just as important as The Holy Quran as it was only sent to comfirm that which we already had. That is what it has done for me as Christian. To me a comfirmation is not complete unless you have the original message. Some men follow their own vain desires for riches and glory in this life and cannot see the truths. So many Christians teach outside of what God sent to us and interpret the books to meet these vain desires.
So many Muslims are so proud of their ability at reciting the Holy Quran and their perfect worship practices that they miss the true message. They even sometimes are so proud that they had the last prophet that they hold him higher in their hearts than all that came before. They too often see him as a saint and perfect without a flaw, but he knew better than anyone that he was not a perfect man.

"Verily We have granted thee (Muhammad) a manifest victory. That Allah may forgive you your sins of the past and the future...
Surat-ul Fath (48): 1-2 "

"So know (O Muhammad) that, La ilaha illallah (None has the right to be worshiped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin... "
Surat-u Muhammad (47): 19"

Only God knows for sure who will inherit paradise and who will inherit the fires of hell.
