So many Muslims become blinded from true worship
by their religion. They get so proud of the fact they have memorized
the Quran from front to back that they never learn anything. Most
that I have talked do not even recognize a prophet other than their
almost holy of holies, Muhammad. This is through no fault of the
prophet Muhammad or Allah's but mans own desires to be better and
more proud of what they have. I have come to trust the Holy Quran
as being a very accurate Holy book because it verified and made
clear that which I read in the Bible. I have also learned that if
you are careful you can find trusted translators of it. My learning
has shown me that no prophet is greater than the others in the physical
sense, yet most Muslims will not even speak the name Isa or Jesus
for fear they will be looked at as a Christian or kafir.
0 People of the scripture (Christians) do
not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but
the truth. The Messiah, Isa, (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary) was (no
more than) a messenger of Allah and his Word, (:Be!" and He
was) which he bestowed upon Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created
by Him...
Surat-un Nisaa (4):171
As I said in the physical sense he was just a man. But it was his
very spirit that made him different.
The angel said: "I am only a messenger from
your Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a righteous son."
Surat-u Maryam (19):19
I follow Jesus as I would any leader blessed
by God and try to live my life according to the following verse,
which I feel exemplifies The Life of Jesus.
Mathew 5: 43 - 44
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless
them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for
them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; ...
He never fell to the temptations of Satan as
all other men have. Even Muhammad whom most Muslims think of as
a perfect sinless man was not without fault.
"Verily We have given
you (Muhammad) a manifest glory. That Allah may forgive you your
sins of the past and the future...
Surat-ul Fath (48): 1-2 "
As a Muslim I have come to respect my teachings
of Jesus from the Bible more than ever. Some people would say that
I have converted to Islam. But as I think I have already mentioned
probably several times the followers of Jesus were the first Muslims.
The words Muslim and Islam is just an Arabic word for those that
believe in one God and do his will. I have to come to respect Jesus
not only from my learning in the Bible but also because the Quran
verifies what I learned. He was a man that was special. He was to
be held above all other men and one day he will come back to rule
the entire world as King. He will teach again to mankind that there
is only one God. He will teach Islam. I look forward to his return
and will follow him. But I have not yet met any other Muslim that
would say this even though it is clearly in the Quran. Jesus was
not God, but the spirit of God brought him into this world. He had
knowledge of God that no other man has ever had since the time of
Adam and Eve. Through his life he brought salvation to the world
as a whole. But he is not the forgiver but the one whom asks forgiveness
for mankind. He proved that it was not impossible for man to avoid
the temptations of Satan. He was given a special place with God
to rule and teach mankind "Islam" on his return to worship
the one true God and to do God's will. Jesus is alive.
